No, the program does not require the GRE. Students should have an earned bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a GPA 3.0+. -
Is there a limitation on the number of courses I may take each term?
Yes, currently two courses per semester are being offered. -
Is a degree or certificate program offered?
Not at the present time. -
If a degree or certificate program is offered, will those credits later apply to a degree program?
All credits earned will be applicable to the degree or certificate program. -
How do I register for courses?

What makes the online courses in Public Health Informatics at the University of Maryland unique?
They are among the only completely Internet-based courses of their kind with no on-campus requirements. -
Is there an on-campus requirement component?
No, students do not have to physically come to campus. -
Will there be interaction with other students in the program?
Yes, state-of-the-art resources, including asynchronous lessons with chat rooms and threaded discussions, will be incorporated into the program. -
Is the quality of the online courses equal to that of a traditional program?
Yes, the online courses in Public Health Informatics are taught by University of Maryland faculty with outstanding research and teaching credentials. The same course is being offered in the master program of public health during the same semester. -
